UncleFetcher is a versatile command line tool that can be used for selecting and summarizing data from one or more web pages and presenting information in a clean concise format. It can also be used to extract data from web pages (HTML) in a format that is conducive to creating a .csv (Comma Separated Values) file to import data into a spreadsheet, database or other application. There are other programs that do "HTML extract", "screen scraper", or "html to text" processing, but UncleFetcher is more sophisticated than others we've seen. UncleFetcher is designed for those who want to process data or view data in a format of their choosing without a lot of superfluous internet flotsam and jetsam. Can be used by serious researchers or casual users. Available for Windows and Linux. Single small executable file (Windows version lt 150K) requires no external libraries. Windows installer includes uninstall program, help file, and examples.
